GAUGE:
Gauge (Stocking Stitch over 4 in = 10 cm): 24.0 sts by 28.0 rows.
Needles: 3.5 mm needle (body) & 3 mm needle circular needle for neck band

BACK:
1. Cast on 113 sts on size 3.5 needles and knit one row. This row is not included in the pattern chart.
2. K1, work on the pattern chart, K1. Rev, purl all sts. Repeat for 33 rows. On the 34th row, K1, *( P1, K8,P1), repeat * 5 times, P1, K9, P1, repeat * 5 times again, K1.
3. Work on Step 2 until the piece measures 15'' or 37.5 cm.
4. Armhole shaping. Cast off 6 sts at beginning of next 2 rows. Dec 1 st at each end of every alternate row until 86 sts remaining.
5. Work even until armhole measures 8.25 ins.
6. Shoulder shaping. Cast off 12 sts at beginning of next 4 rows.
7. 41 sts remaining for back of neck. Cast off loosely.

FRONT:
1-3 Follow steps 1, 2 and 3 as for back.
4. Armhole. Dec for armhole at both ends, as for back.
5. Divide for neck. While working on the first row of armhole decrease, work to the center and cast off the 57th (center stitch). Continue to work right to the end. Separate the stitches from the center stitch and place the 56 stitches (include the cast off stitches for the count) on hold for one side. Work one side at a time.
6. Dec 1 st at neck edge of next row, then every 3rd row and at the same time work on the armhole decrease until 24 sts remain.
7. Work even until armhole measures 8.25 ins
8. Shoulder shaping. Cast off as for back.
9. Pick up the stitches that are on hold for the other half and repeat step 4 to 8.

SLEEVES:
1. Cast on 83 sts on size 3.5 needles and knit one row. Work on the knit based on the pattern chart for 11 rows.
2. Shape cap. Cast off 6 sts at beg of next two rows (71 sts rem). Dec 1 st at each end of every row 3 times, then dec 1 st at each end of every 2nd row 17 times, then dec 1 st at each end of every row 3 times. Cast off remaining 25 sts loosely.

SHOULDER SEAMS:
1. Sew fronts to back along shoulder seams.

FINISHING:
1. Sew sleeve top to armhole, easing to fit. Sew side and sleeve seams. Sew any remaining seams.
2. Finish neckline edges with 3 mm circular needle: Pick up about 160 stitches (even count). Work on a V-neckline: Mark the center stitch at the deep V. Work to 2 st before, ssk, knit center st, k2 together, work to end. Repeat for 6 rows and cast off.
3. Weave and sew in all loose ends.
