Vintage Toggle Clasps for Jewelry Making

Went on a shopping spree recently and got some unique toggle clasps. In the past I have used toggle clasps on loom beaded bracelets that matched beautifully. I generally go for the copper or the brass toned ones which are less common in the local stores. I have come to learn that the craft stores here in Singapore do not hold many pieces of the same designs and their stocks are often erratic. Such that it is difficult to get the same products each time. This time round I managed to get hold of a few gems. Haven't thought about what I am going to do with them yet. Will keep these pictures in my PDA the next time I go beads shopping.
A fairly large toggle clasp at about 1 inch wide. The clasp has a bit of middle eastern flair.
An interesting lock and key toggle set. I am thinking of a bracelet for this.

The leave set toggle clasp is fairly large and will go well as a center piece of any necklace on its own.

Knitting a Lace Border Blouse - Completed!

Completetd Knitting Project - Lavender Lace Blouse

Voila, my completed lavender lace blouse. It would have taken me ages to complete the blouse if not for the short break between works. As at now, I am still on break and will take the chance to update my sites and blog. Have given myself 3-4 months for this lace knit but have completed it a month earlier than I thought. That being the fact that I been spending sometime in front of the telly watching my favourite programs (Lost and Prison Break have just returned!) and knitting at the same time.

I have borrowed the lace chart from a knitting magazine. The rest of the design which basically include everything else was created with the help of Knitware and some form of knitting mathematics. The Craft2Style.com knitting calculator was useful for armhole shaping. I have initially thought of shaping the waist but employing wide rib panels at the mid section gives the knit the shape it needs. The structured V-neck ribbing and vertical panels remove some of its girlishness but retains the knit's original femininity.

Will make use of the remaining 1-2 months for my next knitting project which is a cabled jacket from a commercial pattern. The intricate cable designs of the jacket mean I will probably have to follow the pattern more closely this time although not religiously.

Have a nice day!
